| Defensive Knives & Other Weapons Most people that carry a gun also carry a knife or other weapon as a backup. Finding a good blade is often harder than finding a good pistol or revolver. |

Aloha ALL,
Welp, been awhile, but I hope everyone has been doing well. Anyway, I got this Hissatsu Folder from my friend, Mr. Rod Bremer to test out. I have always loved the Hissatsu FB, and carry one from time to time during yard duty, so it was refreshing to be able to carry a Hissatsu "outside the yard". Some size comparison/ride height pics with some folders I had on me the day it arrived: ![]() ![]() ![]() This folder is built like a tank. Also, the Outburst mechanism punches harder than I do! I like this style of AO because of it's overall simplicity. There's just one bar that fires off the blade, but it is a large bar, that is easily reached for cleaning. There is also a screw set up at the rear of the handle internals to turn the Outburst into a manual. However, I have not carried an AO for a long time, so I will be making use of the Outburst for as long as I can. The Hissatsu Folder has a very sharp blade that I have found to be practically shaped for everyday use and not just for SD penetration. Even though it penetrates effortlessly into stacks of cardboard, I will be using my folder 99.9% of the time for uh..."normal" use. The Hissatsu blade works very well in all sorts of daily tasks. ![]() ![]() The handle of the Hissatsu Folder is nicely textured like stingray skin. When held with gloves it's a dream. When held with sweaty hands it's still pretty grippy, but this is something I will attribute to the handle shape more than the handle texture. Speaking of the handle, the scales are placed kinda far apart, so be careful when adjusting the Hissatsu Folder into your pocket. My pinky is just small enough in that I poked it a few times already on the tip while replacing it into pocket. I have however, changed my technique. Another nice thing is that the Hissatsu Folder handle is abou the same size as the Hissatsu Fixed Blade. So if you are familiar with the Hissatsu FB, the Hissatsu Folder will require very little in the form of "muscle memory" once opened. ![]() ![]() Oh yes, the Auto LAWK...I had no problem closing the Hissatsu Folder while at the same time disengaging the Auto LAWK. Just close the blade SLOWLY once you have both the Auto LAWK and liner lock disengaged, or the blade WILL slam on your finger. As we say here, "Just go easy-easy brah!" Overall, I love this folder. It's very hefty, and the Outburst mechanism has a nice, crisp "punch" to it upon opening. The Auto LAWK does add a sense of security and I could not get the ala Walker Liner Lock to unlock while the Auto LAWK was engaged. One thing I did not like was the one screw clip, which is held in place by a depression on the handle. My clip wiggles a bit, but that's to be somewhat expected being secured in this manner. Also, I have run this folder through a lot of "SD on large diameter, fibrous weed thingys" in the yard, and the clip has not stripped out of the handle as of yet, and I hope it never does. Mahalo much to Mr. Bremer for giving me the opportunity to use this folder, and to all those wondering if they should get one or not, I say yes. For EDC tasks, and in the mode of SD, (which BTW you can use the Hissatsu Folder both opened AND closed)...it is a tough folder, easily maintained, and just darn beautiful!!! God bless all!
