| Defensive Knives & Other Weapons Most people that carry a gun also carry a knife or other weapon as a backup. Finding a good blade is often harder than finding a good pistol or revolver. |

EDC blade as compliment to my pistol
New to this particular forum(not DC itself)so if this has been addressed... my apologies. Looking for a small fixed blade knife for strong-side carry. Like something with about a 3" blade that can both stab and cut. Rust-resistant finish(preferably black)with good non-slip handle. Made-in-USA a must. Like the HAC concept and considering that also as a separate purchase. Want something as the knife-equivalent to my Glock 19 or 26(i.e. ..an EDC). Oh yeah, don't want to take a second mortage for it either
. Thanks guys..look forward to your ideas!![]()

For something of "conventional" design, look at the Rat Cutlery RC-3 or something from TOPS. You might also take a look at the Ka-bar TDI

I have the RC-3 and it's kiss'en cousing the Ontario Rat-3. They are outstanding fixed blades. findingn the right sheath to fit you're mode of carry is a bit of a challenge.
I also have the TDI and like that. I think it's a good value and there are some very good aftermarket sheaths for it. Either of these are good choices. Personally I've found carrying a fixed blade along with my CCW rig a bit difficult so I tend to carry a Benchmark folder. Any Benchmade with an Axis lock is great and super fast to open. I'd consider that along with a fixed blade. |

I think the Ka-Bar TDI, as suggested above, may be your best bet.

I'd like to find a small knife (maybe about the size of the "Baghdad Box Cutter" by TOPS) w/ a well made sheath that holds the knife horizontally & securely on the belt.
Any ideas? |

Mine is the top left in tan...they come in black and other colors, too...smooth or partly serrated, also.

As far as a fixed blade that comes with a Kydex sheath and belt clip that offers a wide range of carry options check out the Blackhawk Kalista.

The Baghdad Box Cutter comes in a Kydex sheath with a rotating spring clip. If the clip isn't secure enough for you, you could drill a hole or two and use a Mini Tek-Lok.
