| Defensive Knives & Other Weapons Most people that carry a gun also carry a knife or other weapon as a backup. Finding a good blade is often harder than finding a good pistol or revolver. |

My new EDC.. Sog Aegis
Hey guys, Just wanted to share pics on my new EDC knife. SOG Aegis in TiNi finished 3.5" blade, black handle. I try not to pay, for say, more than $60-75 range for EDC knives, and this one, at MSRP is I think $110. I got it online, for $65 shipped.
I opted for the black handle, thinking its more practical, but debated on the Digi Camo, that is sweet! The knife is my first SOG and first experience with the SAT.. it deploys pretty fast, the arc-lock is kinda the same as Benchmade's Axis lock (or do I have it backwards?) The lock-up on the blade is good, there was SLIGHT movement, which I don't like but was easily fixed by 1/4-1/2 turn of the Allen. Blade is sharp, and is GORGEOUS, although AUS-8 blade could be better. My ONLY complaints about the knife, which aren't really legitimate. ONE. that this knife is designed to be carried tip-up, which is opposite of what I naturally like (note; opinions vary, but I PREFER tip-down.) TWO: the clip on this thing sits deep in the pocket, which is good, but this clip is serious, may need to really work on pulling from pocket, it REALLY hugs the pocket, may just need to loosen up after use.) One main thing I LOVE about this knife, is how LIGHT it is, can't remember specs, but You can't feel it in your pocket, yet you still have 3.5" of blade.. This replaces, or will get working into rotation, my similarly light Spyderco Centofante III. Ok Ok, pictures pictures.. Sorry quality isn't great, phone is handy, digi-cam is not.

Nice knife. I like it. As far as the complaints, it would work for me. As you say everyone is different. I prefer to carry tip up and i like it to ride deep in the pocket. Having said that, if it doesnt work for you send it to me. Ill give it a shot.

Most of it looks good. Hope it works well for you. I think the SOG outline on the clip is gaudy, but everyone is different. ;-)

I thought the same when I purchased it. It carries so deep in pocket though, and it is very very strong to be honest. Im a fan. That knife is also very sharp, no need to have sharpened out of the box!

I have the Aegis Tanto....bought it for my deployment. I bought it for the same reasons--sits deep in the pocket; but I also like the locking mechanism better than a liner lock.
IRT the clip--it is REALLY sturdy...and don't have a problem pulling it from the pocket...

Very nice! I love the black on black. I use a FlashII and have to agree that SOG knows how to make a light knife!
