Defensive Knives & Other Weapons Most people that carry a gun also carry a knife or other weapon as a backup. Finding a good blade is often harder than finding a good pistol or revolver.

Airlines stole my Emerson.

Someone in baggage is sporting an almost new Emerson Commander. My favorite blade. I declared a firearm in the same bag with no problem. Weasels.

Terrible.

I hate flying cattle cars and don't like to go unarmed, but I do fly rarely to Hawaii to visit my son. When I do, I leave the Emersons at home; I either pack a Spyderco or just borrow a knife from my son to carry while on the island. We know they like to mess with knives---once my son found his folder locked open inside his suitcase when he unpacked after a flight.

Can you narrow it down to one airline?

They deserve some free publicity.

Yeah, but I'm waiting to see if they will cover it...

+1. I would not fly with anything nicer than a mid-level Spyderco.

Don't the airlines have cameras on those loading docks?
Someone had to rummage through the bags to find that...

That's a good point, Ret. I sent a snail mail letter. No email for customer service, just an address and an 800#. Did not want to talk to someone overseas with a heavy accent. We shall see.

Thanks for the wisdom on not packing a good blade. Too soon old...
I loved that knife, a real workhorse with a whipsaw spring.

Roses are red,
violets are blue,
I had a good knife,
till you stole it.

Good?

I'd also file an official complaint with TSA.

After all it's not a camera, it's a weapon capable of bringing down an airliner if in the wrong hands.
