AR15 build questions
Since the AWB passed by the wayside is it legal now to put a preban upper on a postban lower? The BATFE website did not have any clearly written info that I can find, I was hoping that someone here would be able to help.

Since the ban was lifted I don't see any reason that you can't put the post ban upper on the pre ban lower. What's the barrel length on the new upper? I think the only restriction left is that it cnad be shorter than 16.5".

Yes, it's legal to do so (except in a few places where the state has written its own assault ban laws.... like NY). A 16" like you're talking about is fine.

Most folks go a touch longer for safety. 16.01" is OK. 15.99" is big trouble.... Matt

Thanks for all the quick replies. I was pretty sure it was legit, but wanted to verify... Thanks again.
