Socom!!!

Socom!!! I HATED doing up and on shoulders with an M-14, but loved being able to put 10 out of 10, in the bullseye at 500yds. at Edson Range 35 yrs. ago. Get the Socom!!!

Ahhh Edson, I was east coast but was later stationed just down the road from Edson at Las Pulgas. It's that kind of love I have for the M16A2. I was always jealous of the squids on ship just for the fact that they still had M14's.

Well I got the SOCOM II, I wanted the 16, but found a deal I could not pass up, NIB and I was able to trade the guy my Kimber CDP compact and $300. Only one trip out to the range so far, it ate the Wolf FMJ very well, unfortunately I only had some mini silhouete targets and my front sight was covering them at 100 yards :( I still managed to get them in the "X" ring a couple of times, I kept them on the paper for the most part, but man it's hard shooting a target you can't see.

I added a Yankee hill bipod adapter and Harries 6" to 9" bipod and am investigating my options for optics. Maybe Santa will leave an Aimpoint in my stocking.

I am also considering changing stocks to either a Vltor stock kit or one from JAE, check them out here: JAE100.com.

Good choice on the .308 now if you have to come to VA to kill some deer do to outrages overloaded deer population you can use that. AR you cannot.
