Happy to see there are some other "old school" tactical guys here.

For short & long range work...

I do have the mandatory Practical, Tactical, Black Plastical, AR too.

Thought I would "bump" this one and get it going again. Any new toys out there, or any prospective purchases at the Indy 1500? No EBRs for me yet, but I'm working on it... dh

My EBR

I'm gonna buck the trend and go with something besides an AR variant:

A PTR-91 (HK G3/91 clone). With surplus ammo it's 2-3 MOA, with good ammo and someone who knows what they're doing (i.e. not me) it's probably about 1 MOA. As-is I can hit a 12" steel plate about half the time with just iron sights at 450 yards.

The pic is a little old, since then I've upgraded to green G3 furniture (the PTR stuff is junk), a G3 heavy buffer (man, what a difference), and an HK21 butt pad.

After shipping and taxes the gun was only around $800. Surplus mags were under $3 for a while at CTD. 7.62 NATO surplus ammo is available, about 15 to 18 cents per round. Over a thousand rounds now and no problems--I think it's a great value and a great gun. Well, at least until it comes time to clean it...

Shucks - an old thread resurrected - hey Duckhunter - you need more gadgets on that rifle

Let me add a few more pics - I am very fond (read VERY) of my FAL, the L1A1 is ''OK'' but being a Century ''thing'' is not top quality - sure shoots tho.

Then just throw in the AK - I am an ''AR-less'' shooter and not that likely to change tho a Bushy ''donated'' would I hardly need say be well looked after A few SKS's also help but hey - everyone has one or more - don't they?!
