Good buy, the romanian AK is a very good firearm for the money, enjoy it. Hopefully 7.62x39 prices will come down some day, or at least become widely available again.

Another Romanian fan here. Congrats on the purchase. Hopefully, you'll not catch the AK bug, but if you do, I'd recommend a Yugo Underfolder for AK #2.

Good choice I had one that was very similar.
Like that laminated wood stock, just like on the one I had. |

Good choice on the Romanian sir.
The shop I hang at and help out for a few days a week when I'm home and not training carries the Romanians and Yugo [ usually folders on the Yugo's ]. They fly out of the shop when we have them. I just picked up a like new "cherry picked" Arsenal milled receiver AK with wood furniture for myself two weeks ago as well as two Norinco SKS's that came in that were like new as well. Best I can find on ammo is ammoman.com. Right now it's 179.00 per case [ 1K ] delivered to the door. Grabbed two cases just last week from Eric. Brownie |

Congrats, spyderdude! Great to have a compact, simple, fires-every-time-the-trigger-is-pulled semiauto rifle...
The other guys are right...you will need more magazines.. ![]()

Dude, for $200 Total, you can put one together.
I'm going to be getting a Romak kit on the way($99), and an ORF receiver($59 + $25 FFL fee), soon..... I'm thinking screw-build.....![]() |

I bought my first AK about a year ago. It's a yugo. You can see it in my avatar with my nephew, he likes AKs too. The 7.62x39 is one of my favorite calibers to shoot. Not a lot of recoil, reletively cheap, and still has plenty of thump. It's also not a bad deer hunting caliber but I prefer the SKS for that kind of work. The safetys on the AK are a little hard to manipulate without making noise when you're in the woods.
A note of caution. Be carefull where you set that thing down after burning through a fast 30 round mag. I bunrned a hole in a soft gun case that way. |
