You know you gotta get prior approval from the BATF before you convert a rifle to a short barrel. LOL!

I think I saw something similar and it was said to be fake. I'm not sure, looks to perfect to be real.

If I had the money and time, I would do a comparitve test on two identical barrels, one with an autoloader and the other a bolt action and see what the difference would be. Might be interesting to see.

Never seen one myself, but if you look a couple inches back on the first picture, there are some good inside indents that look like it detonated at the back of the boresighter insert. The barrel appears to be thick enough and doesn't appear fluted.
My unverified opinion would be that with the 30 cal round inserting itself into the end of the boresighter, which would be a short ways back from the end of the barrel, it would be possible.

I found this goof a while ago. This guy was hunting deer, shooting reloaded slugs, only his first shot, he had missed the powder, the slug stuck in the barrel. His second shot kinda helped the first slug out. You can see his hand didn't fare so well. It's a good reminder to remember the powder.

I believe it.

Ive seen almost exactly the same thing when a .338 was fired that apprently had ice in the barrel. Looked like a banna peeled open.
