Ar-15 in 9mm

Anyone have one I'm picking up one to play around with it uses Glock Mag's

I know it doesn't have the power of a rifle cartridge but the glock mag is pretty handy i think

especially with the Glock 18 33 round mag's could be a Good SHTF gun to go with a glock

The make a 10mm version but to bad it doesn't use glock mag's but modified sten mag's which i have heard there are problems with

yeah I want one!!! I really like the fact that they take the 33 round glock mags....and while it doesn't have the power of a rifle cartridge, it has more power than a little 4" bbl that's for sure. I think they are great and would like to get a 9mm upper. Actually my dream gun is a suppressed 9mm upper on a full auto lower receiver....but that's quite a few years away for me!!!

Gotta take the opposite view here.

I've played with a 9mm AR, and it's a lot of fun.

But....

If you are talking SHTF, then it makes absolutely no sense to me to carry something with the bulk and weight of a rifle and yet still only get pistol caliber performance.

Pistols are pistols, and rifles are rifles.

Matt it will more likely just be to play with if SHTF i doubt im leaving no way i could take all my firepower with me so i think i would be better off at home

No sweat. As a range toy, I'd have to say it's a lot of fun.

For social purposes, I'd prefer the rifle chambering.

Just my $0.02 - I could be completely wrong.....

Bud, I am thinking of building my on AR and had considered a 9mm after having shot the Bushmaster 9mm Carbon 15. Do you know of a lower that can take both 5.56 and 9mm or is that just a pipe dream?

just about any lower can take a 9mm upper if you get a magwell block...I've heard that some of the colts with the sear block had a hard time running certain 9mm uppers but other than that you don't really need a dedicated lower...that's one of the many great things about the AR platform if you ask me
