Is the Saiga "AK" a 10 round only gun?
I got an email from Top GLock. They have the Saiga rifle in 7.62x39 for $209. I know it can be converted to AK furniture, but it comes with a 10 round mag. Does that mean it won't accept 30 ronders like the low capacity "AKs"?
Here is the link http://www.topglock.com/Item.aspx?PID=59327 |

Nope
It'll take hi-cap mags (30 rds)

Let me also add, is there any reason to buy an AK over the Saiga?

Saiga vs AK
I would guess that you're talking about the type of Saiga rifle that doesn't have the pistol grip. With that type of rifle it depends what you want to do with it. If you're looking at converting it to have a pistol grip, I'd say you're better off buying an AK, it'll save you money. AK's do have more of a selection of aftermarket products and you can have an AK with a folding stock (not sure if you can with a Saiga). Check around, take a look at ar15.com. They have an AK-47 section (also deals with Saiga rifles) and they can be helpful as to the pros and cons.

x2 on the www.saiga-12.com forum.
also you will need to watch modifying the saiga to an AK b/c of the ATF firearm laws and certain amount of domestic/import parts installed. |

A stock Saiga will not accept regular AK 30 round mags without mods to the rifle and mag. Fully discussed at the Saiga forum as previously mentioned.

Besides the Saiga forum, you might want to look here.
Russian-American Armory They are the current importers of Saiga.
