Need Help with Uppers
Hey Guys I need some advice on completeing my AR. Could some one give me advice on some manufactuers.
J&T Distributing, M&A Parts, Model 1 Sales. Does any one recommend others? I want a 16" chrome or chrome Moly Barrel, Flat top upper, and Car stock. Is it cheaper to buy a whole kit or parts individualy? Last edited by pgrass101; December 1st, 2006 at 10:18 AM. |

If you’re looking for the best price on a quality upper, Stag is a good choice. DPMS may also be a good option.
I paid a little more, and went with Bushmaster because I wanted the barrel made out of 4150 steel. To the best of my knowledge only Bushmaster and Colt use 4150. Everyone else uses 4140. But many people think 4140 is good enough. It probably is, I just go it in my mind that I wanted 4150. I also got a Bushmaster because I wanted a fluted heavy barrel and not everyone offers that.

Thanks guys I'll try to post updates on how it goes. This will be my first AR build, I did an FN-FAL about 4 years ago. I think I will go with J&T, I'm still looking and thinking about what exactly I want.

I just built an AR for a buddy of mine, and we used a DPMS upper. I would definately recommend them.Great quality on all of the ones I've looked at, and they just feel good.
