New Bushmaster on layaway

I just put this on layaway at my local black rifle store. Can't wait to go pick it up, but it will have to wait 'til after Christmas. It's something to look forward to, though.

When I get it, I'll post real photos.

That is a sweet rig!! I bought an M4 Bushy after the AWB sunsetted. Been waiting to save the $ for free floating rails, BUIS, Eotech and a Surefire for the front. You got most of that right from the factory. Enjoy!!!! Let us know how it does at the range.

$1299

A&P Arms, Hampton, VA

Unfortunately they don't know if they'll be able to get another. Apparently this configuration is not available from the factory anymore. You have to buy the piece-parts and assemble it yourself.

Pics and a question...

Update: I picked up the rifle a little while back and had a chance to shoot a little. Now, I don;t know much about ARs but it seems to me this is a really nice gun. (With proper hearing protection), it's like a pneumatic nailgun: very quick, but mild, recoil and a very tight, mechenical sound to it. My friends AK is more like a jackhammer by comparison. I know it's a good gun too - reliable and powerful and all that, but it just beats me up too much. The Bushmaster AR feels like a fine tool. Like a Porter Cable router or a Stihl chainsaw.

I see that Bushnell makes a Holographic sight, similar to the Eotech. Does anyone know about the quality of that product? The Eotech is quite a ways outside my budget.

Anyway, I haven't had a chance to zero the sights or add any optics yet. But here are a couple of pics:

I believe the Bushnell Holosight is made by EoTech for Bushnell...it's the same as the regular EoTech, but doesn't have the heavy-duty protective shroud around the optics. Just be sure to get the model that uses AA batteries, not the "n" cells.

Nice looking rifle!

I also like your sig-line quote from The Probability Broach...a great book..
