Part Number or Recommendation for 590 safety

I'll be picking up my NIB 590-A1 next week....Merry Christmas to me! But I noticed it has a plastic safety lever. I thought it was supposed to be metal? Is there a metal replacement for this? I did a double take....this shotgun does have the metal trigger guard, bayonet lug and the heavy barrel....the box is marked model 51663.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!

Have a Very Happy Holiday Season,

Wayne

Although the chances of plastic breaking are far greater than metal, I have yet to have it happen to my Mossberg 590. If however, you are interested in a metal safety, you can pick one up from Brownells. http://www.brownells.com/aspx/NS/sto...+SAFETY+BUTTON

Thank you very, very much for the info. I tried to search Brownells earlier this morning and casme up with nada. I figured someone here would know!! I figured the plastic is fairly sturdy....but might break if under stressful conditions...the metal button looks great!!!!

Thanks Again,

Wayne
