The Ultimite Home Defense shotgun

This would work well

If I remember right, those shotguns were used to commercially hunt ducks. the guns were mounting in small paddle boats, and you aimed the gun/boat as 1 at the raft of ducks swimming.
Looks devastating all right.

I can see it now, two kid's laying across the barrel and momma with her back against your back and feet pressed firmly against the wall for recoil.

I would say it would take care of the multiple BG's that seem to be the new trend in home invasions. I like it, where do I get one?

Right you are, Rocky. "A punt is a flat-bottomed boat with a square-cut bow, designed for use in small rivers or other shallow water." Back in the dark ages (1964) coming back from the Boy Scout National Jamboree we stopped in Gettysburg for the battlefield tour. In the museum there they had several punts with the guns mounted in the bow. The gun was on a swivel so that it could be moved slightly off axis from the boat. They also had photos of the result of firing it into a flight of ducks. There were several sizes on display I remember seeing one each that were listed as 0 ga. and 00 ga. I have seen an 8 ga. in use and these definitely dwarfed it.

I suggest though that it be called the "ultimate home remodelling gun" rather than home defense. If you use it inside there won't be much home left to defend.

Yup, the punts had to be replaced fairly often but the guns were usually handed down in families by "market hunters" and later poachers. Many of the guns even were given names by their owners. There are several of them on display in museums in the Chesapeake Bay area. I saw the largest one ever made and the thing had a bore like a sewer main!

Good heavens. At that point you may as well just fill a cannon with musket balls.
