Wow!!

I just shot the #8 bird shot and it was a blast, especially from the hip!! (Pun Intended).
My next question is: Will 00 Buckshot show noticably more Recoil? Thanks.

yes. Especially from the hip. Or for a real treat try both barrels at once from a 12 ga side by side coach gun with 00 buck. My shoulder hurt for 3 days after trying that trick.

while it's not a 12 guage shotgun, it sure kicks more than one.. my dad's 300 win mag, last time I shot it I had a bruised and sore shoulder for 2 weeks. I only took 12 shots out of it.

Well, I put a limbsaver recoil pad on it.. and it tamed the recoil a LOT. The gun no longer HURTS to shoot. Sure, it kicks good.. but it doesn't punish you with pain.

I also put one of these on my 11/87 12 guage.. it turned the recoil into a strong push, instead of a hard punch. The pads only cost about $27 too. well worth it if you ask me.

I've shot 3" slugs, buckshot, pretty much everything out of this. None of it bothers me much now.

Maybe you might want to shoot a 20 gauge or even a .410 some before you shoot a 12 again.

Next time you go to shoot the 12 gauge,
Have your buddy kick you in the crotch as hard as he can .........
Then go shoot it, I'd be willing to bet , you won't notice the recoil of the shotgun by then..

You will get used to it. Concentrate on the shot, not the recoil. Steve48

Might try a Rem 11-87 with 2.75" #6 or #8 loads, very soft recoil....
I used to think a 12 ga had recoil until I got my 10 ga Browning BPS....
With 3.5" magnum 00 or slugs it can be a real "treat".....
