I would suggest going to the range on a day when you know many other shotgunners will be there. Simply ask for some guidance. I'm sure anyone would be happy to offer opinions, pointers, proper hold, how "tight" to be against the shoulder, stance, etc. Now, while many of the loads used by the trap/skeet crowd are going to be light loads, by comparison, most will regularly shoot heavier stuff (and guns, ie 10ga, 12ga) as well.
IMO, any 12ga round in any ~7lb or heavier shotgun should be manageable and not beat you up, assuming a strong grip, mount against the shoulder, aggressive/forward stance (against recoil). At least, for the first 30rds or so. Anything after that, and the heavier loads will begins to ache without a really good recoil pad as others mentioned. YMMV. Ach. Just saw your follow-on post. I took a combat shotgun class taught by Rob Haught at Ft. Harmar Rifle Club in OH. He taught us to control recoil by pulling the stock lightly against our shoulder with the pistol grip, and pushing against the forend with our left hand. When you pull the gun against your shoulder with both hands you are just adding to the recoil. Push with the forened, pull gently with the pistol grip. Try it, it works!!! After shooting nearly 300 rounds, including slugs and buckshot, in one day I was hardly noticing the recoil. I even found that at times I was barely holding the butt against my shoulder. Try this and let me know if it works for you. Rob does a great shotgun class!

It is actually a Turkish made gun if it is Huglu. Being that it is an O/U it will kick more than an auto. You should look into doing some Trap at your local range. The gentlemen who shoot there as well as the workers will equip. you with the fundamentals of shotgunning that will apply to anything you may want to attempt with a shotgun. Once I had the basics for holding, swinging, aiming, and stance with a shotgun it really doesn't bother me when I shoot T-loads or 3.5 inch duck loads or even my big magnum rifles.

I can see this helping with semi-autos but have you tried with a pump? I'd rather take the recoil with faster followup shots, I think.
