Watson's Weapons
http://www.watsonsweapons.com/50boss.htm
A friend is thinking about a .50 BMG upper. I've heard of Watson's (never anything bad), but I've never handled their stuff in person. Anyone? Good, bad, indifferent.....? Thanks! |

I've only been a member of FCSA for a couple of years now....but I've never heard a bad word about Watson's. I've heard very good things about their rifles...never heard much about the AR upper.
Overall, I've heard they are very well made and shoot very accurately. The shell holder design....while less convenient than a bolt or semi auto...is an extremely robust configuration for the 50 BMG. Not much help...but just my .02 cents. Wayne |

With the Watson's upper, you must crank the bolt in and out after popping the rear pin on the reciever to load and unload the round.
It's not fast and its kind of a pain after awhile. For not much more, you can get a sinlge shot SERBU which is a true bolt action that you load a round into the reciever, shoot, jack the bolt back and it strips the empty out. Watsons were some of the first .50's built an the AR platform, they are old technology. They do work and shoot well, but they are less than ideal for extended shooting.
