My uncle recently gifted a winchester 1400 to my dad. I has a rifled barrel installed and also a 26" smoothbore barrel. Dad want's to take the rifled barrel off and put the smoothbore on.
I can usually field strip darn near anything, but not this baby. I know that with the vast knowledge on this forum, someone can help. I removed the cap on the mag tube a'la Remington/Mossberg or any other shotgun I've ever disassembled, but the barel won't come off. I tried it with bolt open first, then closed. Either way it will move a little but not come out. So, before I broke something on this piece of crap, I decided to find out if there is some trick to pulling the barrel of of these guns. I will await the reply of someone familiar with this process before I try it again.

Looks like the bolt is forward. Move the barrel and slide forward as a unit. Never touched an auto before, that's just what's in the book. |

Thanks Daddy Warcrimes
Thanks,
I did a search but couldn't come up with anything. This will take care of it. This forum and it's members are the best bunch of gun nuts around.
