Owned both, shot both. Have seen more than a few people shot with both (not shot by me
). Both work well, both will do the job. Am I cheating if my AK shoots like my AR? Crude tools can be improved......![]() |

I have been to battle and I would rather have the AR. It is more accurate and Its been effective when I needed it. Steve48

I'd take my accurate, reliable AR-15.

I guess I'm against the trend then. I carried both while in Iraq. The M16 that I was issued and an AK that I looted. Granted, if it came to long range shooting I would have used the M16, but it never did. Also, I wasn't a grunt and only used my weapon a few times, but that's my .02.

What they both said. Gimme a vise grip, bailing wire, chewing gum and a stick and I'll fix any AK. I can't afford to buy or carry the ER tools required for an AR.

I haven't been in combat, but I've fired both. I am speculating and going with the AK. Historically goes "bang" every time, simple mechanism, zillions of them (OK, maybe that's an exaggeration) populate this earth for spare parts, ammo is bigger, and a few other reasons.
