OK then. I have decided to go down the dark path. Looking at AK-47"s. I have read every page on this section and a lot of other pages from other sections. What I am looking for, in particular, is where you guys got them from. I have maybe 5 different places to look. You guys would be doing me a great thing by letting me know where you got yours. I'm gonna let this ride for 24 hours and check out what I see. Guns and mags and ammo. Thanx

I bought my Romanian GP WASR10 from a local gun shop in my town, for $415 NIB. I couldn't be happier with it. I'll tell you it won't win any firearm beauty contests, or target matches, but it works, it really does work. It will feed FMJs and HPs without a single hiccup, and I'm able to hit my target dead center, out to about 200 yards. Some people have bad experiences with Romanian AK clones, but I haven't had a single problem with mine. It's imported by Century Arms International.

I got all of mine through private deals. One of the best places to check is AR15.com. They have a section devoted to AK style rifles. Lots of technical stuff too. If at all possible try to do an in state deal as you most likely won't have to involve a dealer. That way there is no paperwork (no government record) of your purchase, which would be a big plus should HR 1022 become law.

Don't forget to get lots of mags and ammo as well. While you still can

subscribed for links. I'm entertaining the idea of buying an AK as well, to have as a second rifle (if I can find a good one in 5.56x45 to match my AR, that would be awesome)
