RRA ar-15 questions
Ok, so I think I offically have the black rifle fever. Im thinking about investing in a new ar-10 and I've heard good things so far about rock river. Has anyone got an ar-10 from them that can give me an opinion. Also, I was looking at their pistols. They sell the complete upper halfs and lowers. My question is there anything about the pistol uppers that would make them not compatible with their regular Ar-15 lower. I am assuming that they are compatible, but I thought they might make them different to make building a SBR not possible.

The pistol upper will work on any AR lower.
You have to watch out for having a shorter than 16" upper and a non-SBR or pistol lower. The BATFE can try to "get" you for constructive intent which means you just hadn't gotten around to mating your short upper on a lower yet. If you don't have a registered SBR lower or pistol lower don't have a short barreled upper sitting around.

Shacklemenot is correct in that its not a good idea to have a rifle reciever and a pistol upper only , now if you also have the pistol reciever you are ok , but with the lack of a pistol reciever the uper and rifle lower can and have been presumed to be a criminal intent .

I talked to a distributer today about it. He told me if I get permission from my department he could sell me a SBR colt. I have been wanting to check out RRA also. I was just going to put one together but you all gave me some good advice. Would a RRA upper fit on a colt lower? I've haven't been able to find the colt commando 11.5" upper, I've only been able to find the complete rifle so far.

If you place the pistol upper on the rifle lower you have committed a felony by creating an unregistered SBR. NOT recommended!

If you want an AR in 308 right now, your best bets are Armalite or DPMS. Personally, I would go with DPMS.
