It's more like four.

Very few claim theirs hold as small as 2".

I have a mini 14. I like it. Although it won't be the first rifle I reach for in a SHTF scenaio. However, if my AR goes down, I'll be glad I have it.

If it's good enough for B.A. Baracus, then it's good enough for me.

i have a ss mini-30 that i totally enjoy. as you said, minor improvements to make it work a little better. wollf springs, buffers, flash hider/muzzle brake,(whatever is pc now) & a leupold 3x9x40 vxII that i consider the best addition so far. consistently shoots 2" or less @ 100 yds with quality ammo. hot or cold this thing shoots. i'm sure others may have horror stories on their mini's accuarcy but mine is a proven performer. rock solid dependability & it just plain looks good. i love mine for what it's worth.

i'm with you foxmeadow, i don't care for the ar simply from my experience in the southeast asian war games. a solid second place. give me the mini & all it's faults & i'll still be shooting when the m-16 is jammed & makes a piss poor club. jmo.

I've had about 4 Mini-14's over the years. I won't have another. Not as accurate as I wanted. Jammed, etc. I'm happy with my ARs. If price were an issue, I would take a good look at the Kel-Tec Su-16 or Armalite 180.

New ARs have many improvements over the Vietnam era ones, malfunctions are not a real big problem any more.

Problem with the Mini 30 is, there are no decent magazines for it. 20 rounders that is.
