just saw a Remington 870 express in 12 gauge at Sportsman's warehouse

I think it was going for about 300.00 but for this price and being an 870, is the express that bad of a gun compared to the standard 870 or the 870p that I have read about, pros and cons

GREAT GUN GREAT PRICE.

I love my 870. I got the 18.5" with synthetic stock and mag extension for about 275. Think of it like an 87 toyota tacoma. Might not be pretty, might not be the highest quality, but it will run forever.

+1. The Express is the "economy" model, but the mechanics are the same, and the utilitarian value is high.

They are fine, and you can ducky-it up to the "Police" standard. Basically that would be adding an extension tube (Wilson's is better than Rem factory), and the metal trigger pack and milled loader arms, "if you must".

Grab it. For most people the express is just fine.
