Is it a given that WASR-10s will have trigger slap?

Here in MA, where we still have an AWB, a couple of shops are selling WARS-10s with a pair of preban mags for around $300. I've been thinking about picking one up, but all is hear about with these guns is that tons of them have major trigger slap? Is it pretty much a given that I'll have to drop $100 to fix it if I pick one up?

Thanks!

The odds are in favor of them having trigger slap, UNLESS they all ready have the upgraded trigger kit.

I am with JD because of where you live. But you can pick a US-Made trigger group for around $35 and installation is easy. Let us know if you go ahead and buy it.

Thanks guys. Most of the time I post pics of the new purchases, so if I pick one up at the end of the month I'll update this thread.

My GP WASR10 came with a TAPCO G2 trigger group, which doesn't have the slap that many people experience. If you can, buy a WASR10 that has the G2 trigger group already on it.

Good point! Somewhere in the trigger group will have USA stamped on it

I have a WASR 10 that I picked up at a gun show in 2005 and it has no trigger slap. I guess I got lucky because it still has the original trigger group.

It's a great gun.

Last WASR AK I owned had a great trigger.

I'm pretty sure every WASR AK you'll find has the G2 already in it.

Century is now using the G2 exclusively in the WASRs now so if it's of recent manufacture then you should be good to go...if it has the old century trigger group then you have two options...1) you can replace it with a G2 or 2) you can modify the century setup to reduce the trigger slap...just requires a Dremel tool and a couple of minutes of your time.
