I found a dandy...

at my local shop, I found an NEF single shot in S&W .500 magnum.
Man that ammo/bullet is huge. A slightly smaller version of a 45/70 government. And to think thats a handgun round...

I think Thompson Center has G2 barrels in .500 S&W as well. I don't want to shoot it in a handgun, but in a NEF Handy Rifle it would make for some POWERFUL Wild Pig Medicine!

Question

I remember reading in an old Gun Magazine that a gun writer said that the human body probably could not tolerate any more recoil in a handgun than a .44 magnum.
I wonder how he would feel about a .500 Mag Snubbie?

sorry....no pics. the guns still in the store. I am tempted to purchase it though.
I have shot a .454 casull, and that was strong enough. I don't think I wanna shoot a .500 S&W magnum load in a pistol. I understand that round is capable of 2600 ft. lbs. of ....... torque, er... recoil.
Might as well be torque. Torque your shoulder and arm. LOL...

Back when the .357 magnum was introduced, it was surmised that full power loads would break your hand.
