ArmaLite Warranty Warning

Making a long story short. I received my AR-10 back from ArmaLite repair, and it was not covered under the limited lifetime warranty. The reason stated for the non warranty coverage was due to the rifle being in non stock form. The modifications would in no way affect the extraction problem.

I have sent a letter off to the company's president. If I get a response I will be suppressed, let alone any resolution.

Word to the wise, if you send a rifle back for warranty repair put it back to the way you purchased it.

Thanks,

Not that I own an Armlite but I will make sure all of my guns are stock if I ever have to ship them back.

Perhaps you meant to say "surprised"?

No, he’s hoping for a free suppressor, for his trouble.

I purchased the rifle used with after market handgurad, butstock, front sight, and muzzle break. I am not sure if the trigger was after market or not. I say this because, I got a trigger back with the rifle.

Non of the items would have any thing to do with extraction. If the bolt or receiver had been modified I could understand.

Got out to the range to day, and looks like all is good, 0 malfunctions.

I am still going to send a letter, and let them know my thoughts on how it was handled.

I could not find in the fine print anything about mods voiding warranty. I can understand if a non stock part is casing the problem it should not be covered.

Pretty standard. Be glad, I've heard several accounts of Ruger pulling custom parts/replacing customized parts with factory, before returning them "on warranty". Oh, they charge for this "favor" too.

He certainly won't be getting it from Armalite.
Even if you live in a suppressor-friendly state, buy one of their SuperDuperSASS rifles and you receive a mock-suppressor.

glock21guy,
That sucks to hear.
