Hello,

I drew up a target similar to one that I may or may not have seen on the web. Maybe I dreamed it as I can't find it period.

Whichever, I have the target posted in a thread down lower, but since it's buried in the thread, most people who may be interested probably haven't seen it.

This is supposed to be used at 50 yards with open sights on a rifle, but I suppose it could be used at 100 as well if you have good eyesight or a 'scope.

I think it's ugly as sin, but once printed out it seems to draw one's eyes toward the center - at least it does for me.

I used to like designing targets on Autocad, and now that I no longer have that program, I had to resort to Photoshop.

If I can get out today myself I will, but my range out back is due to be dug up the rest of the way to replace the septic system's "fingers."

I'm guessing it meant to be used with the red at the bottom of the target, that way it doesn't blend into the front sight?

Hi Sheepdog,

It's meant to be used whichever way is best for the individual, and it's just a prototype anyway. That's why I'd like feedback ;)

The way the bullseye points isn't an issue; what is the issue is whether it stands out better than conventional bullseyes the same size. I can always rotate it later.

Josh, did you have a particular purpose for this target in mind? Is is supposed to correct or show errors, or is it easier to see?

Hi Sixto,

It's supposed to be easier to see in all lighting situations. It's supposed to do this by giving the eye two colors it could focus on instead of just one. If you stare at it for a minute (only take me a few seconds) the dichromatic bullseye seems to "float" a bit.

It's probably not done and Ron over on FFF made it into four triangles, a red, black, red, black deal starting at the 12:00 triangle. I think that one, perhaps rotated 90 degrees, would be best for 'scoped shooting.

This is supposed to evolve as I get input.

This is most definitely not a diagnostics target, though the heavy lines should print out at 1" and divided into 1/4ths. Printed this way for me anyhow!

Oh OK, that makes sense. I bet it would be a little easier to see at a distance, with a scoped rifle.
