That's where tactics come in, and a backup pistol.

Everybody seems to think you need an AR or AK. Consider the situations where an AR would have an advantage. There aren't that many, and most are situations you're better off avoiding... room clearing, etc.

"Firepower" is how many times you HIT the target. That's why I'm satisfied with a lever action carbine.

Why worry about it? You can get 400 rounds for $30ish dollars in spam cans designed to survive the apocalypse. Wrap those appropriately, bury with rifles.

The exoticness of the ammo is no big deal for what it costs.

I shoot Sniper competitions With 2 savage 308's I am also picking up a Remington 700 308 this week . I like shooting Bolt action rifles never tried a shotgun yet. merlin45k out
