Need a light for my shotgun

i've been thinking, and came to the conclusion that a shotgun, or any other firearm, doesn't work as well if you cn't see your target. weird, huh? i've been messing around with homemade rigs, like using wireties to strap a mini LED to the mag tube, but i'm not satisfied with the results. does anyone know of a light made for shotguns, or anything that would be helpful? here's a pic of the shottie:

mossberg 500 tactical cruiser.

On the low-end, there's this: TacStar - Mfr# LIGHT121. It's what I have on my Mossy 500, and it works like a charm. SOMETIMES, I do have trouble with the pressure switch though. May just be a short in mine.

On the higher end, there's this: SureFire 621FA Mossberg 500 ( 14" Barrel ) Shotgun Forend Weaponlight w/ Momentary and Constant-On Switching.

If I had the cash to drop on it, I'd go with integrated surefire forend.

Here for $167.00!;

LaserMax Laser Sight Remington 12ga 870,1100,11-87 - LMS-1202

Went to buy it a little while ago and it went into backorder!

Cheaper then Dirt has several options that would work. I also saw on a Thunder Ranch Video some time ago where Clint took a standard Surefire type light and attached it to a 12g double barrel with what i believe to be bike tube. Now with that said, after a lot of rounds down range, it may not work, but for a few....it did real well. My .03 cents for a cheap solution.

I use an Insight M3X on my Benelli M1S90 with a magazine tube mounted rail.

I think this setup gives more versatility than the dedicated forearm as the light can be moved to any weapon with a rail and the same type of lights (Insight M series, Streamlights, Surefire X-300) can be used for handguns and long guns.

I also have a Surefire X-300 for my AR, great light, but the M3X is slightly brighter and $100 cheaper.

I have this on my 500 tactical... works great. My pressure switch is too sensitive if anything... I'm sure at that price-point the pressure switch is not going to be manufactured to tight tolerances.

Inova, Fenix, and Surefire are some of the tryed and trued brands that can handle a lot of recoil. The Gladius is a great one...Try to get one with a strobe setting...it dazes the bg while allowing you to see perfectly. I'd try to stay above 85 lumens but YMMV. Mine is 210 and it's impossible to look at...especially strobing.

I have a Streamlight TLR-1 mounted on my Super Nova, using a Streamlight mag tube mount and their pressure switch.

Adios,

Pizza Bob

A little thread hijacking here,
I have a M1S90 I was looking at putting a light on.
I have the surefire 6p(with extension 9p) plus a couple of p60 heads.
What's the best mount for this light, and a good pressure switch?
I seen the tac-star but would like a little more strength from my mount.
Any suggestions guys, Thanks

WOW! That forend with light is more expensive than my shotgun!
