Talking Got a new AK today (w/pics!)

Darned at what you can find out there on the ole inter-web that folks are willing to sell cheap!

Romanian AK with:
• ITM Arms aftermarket receiver
• Chrome-lined barrel
• Birdcage AR-style flash hider
• TAPCO trigger group
• UTG Front rail system
• TAPCO carbine stock.
• DPH Arms Beryl style "over-the-receiver" rail
• GPS02 Grip Pod
• Hella-cheapo NCstar red dot
• Krylon graffiti

This thing is a great shooting little rifle. It's previous owner really babied it. Fortunately for me he got the black rifle bug and let it go to fund a real M4.

If any of you have AKs with loooooong, slow triggers; definitely look into investing in one of the Tapco trigger groups. That thing is short and CRISP, whatchoo talkin' bout!

I'd never seen the "over the receiver" rail system before this rifle. Maybe I'm sheltered, IDK. Works like a charm though, and solid. I like having the optics up near my eye as opposed to being 3/4 of the way down the gun.

Anyway, I'm tickled. Just thought I'd share some pics with yall...

A lady never tells, but a gentleman never hesitates... to be vague.

I've got about a quarter of what a new AR would run me in it, and it came with everything listed above plus 5 good 30-round mags.

Sweet deal, I thought.

I never saw the Beryl rail before. How would you rate it?

Great deal and enjoy it!

Thanks everybody. Combing the Equipment Exchange at AR15.com can be very rewarding, (and addictive!)

DPH Arms Beryl Style Scope Mount I had never seen it either until I saw it on this rifle. To put it plainly, it's the best AK mount I've seen yet. It's machined from a solid block of aluminum and mounted directly into the rear buttstock screw. It's seriously solid. Like I said above, I really like having the optics back near my eye instead of way down at the handguard. That leaves all of those rails for light / laser etc.

I'll tell you what I'm really impressed with though and that's the Grip Pod. I've never had a bi-pod on a rifle before because 1. they're heavy, 2. it seems like it'd get in the way during the 99% of the time that you aren't using it, and 3. I really like the feel of a vertical foregrip. Enter the Grip Pod, and all of the above problems are solved. It's flat on the sides, too - perfect place for a surefire pressure switch. Maybe when my SKS sells I'll throw one on there.
