Chip McCormick trigger recall

Chip McCormick Corporation

If you bought a McCormick drop-in match trigger (curved or flat) between May and December of 2007, there may be a serious safety issue with your trigger.

Some of these triggers have problems with the disconnector, causing doubling.

You can return it to McCormick on their dime (see the website) for inspection and repair.

Matt (grumbling as I pull the McCormick trigger out of my rifle)

You say 'doubling' -- the BATFE says 'illegal machine gun'.

Not to add to your pain, and I don't know what AR platform you have, but this isn't exactly uncommon when people place "Match" triggers in "Service" rifles.

It's a bushy lower, but the trigger in question is a drop-in module, all the parts are factory aligned.

Supposedly.

From what I've seen, they had a bad batch of disconnectors. Overall, I like the trigger - very clean break to it.

Usually only when you put M16 parts in an AR... which they view as illegal. Even if you just use the M16 bolt and a few other pieces.

IIRC, there was a recent case where the ATF considered a malfunctioning AR to be a "machine gun" because the owner didn't immediately rectify the problem.

There being an official recall might save people from the law on this one if they tried to get the guns fixed quickly.

I bought mine in January of this year, have fired well over 1k rounds with it and not experienced any trouble. Looks like I squeaked by.
