Good to know; that's what the weapon would be used for (carbine courses). Thanks for the info.

I personally would use LMT, Colt, BCM, Noveske and Sabre Defense.

AR's that look VERY promising: ADS and Charles Daly M4 LE

Although two of those five brands are perpetually out-of-stock (BCM and Colt), I agree completely with your suggestions. That said, this college student happened to be around the right place at the right time for a pretty good group buy to at least give me a complete AR to cut my teeth on while I save for a better quality one. I still plan to run the rifle as hard as my wallet allows, though, so expect a call when the upper gets here so we can work out a way to fix it up right.

As it pertains to the topic of this thread, with ADS around I see little reason to consider an Olympic Arms rifle, new as they might be. If Michael Kassnar's estimates are right, Charles Daly ARs should be coming in pretty competitively priced, too.

BCM will be available very soon and Colt will also be ramping up production for a large run in June/July.
