Howa Ranchland Compact .308?
Any one have experience with one of these : Howa/Hogue Compact Ranchland Security Rifles Looks like a dang handy little rifle. Of course, I have always love a Remington Model Seven package, especially back in the day when the barrel was 18.5". Though I love a H&R Ultra Varmint. Though I would chop the 24" barrel down to 20" or 19", but that is just me.
By the way, I am out of the loop... when did Remington acquire Marlin/NEF/H&R1871????

They aren't bad.
Not great mind you, but not bad. I personally rank them in the same catagory as a Savage. I think I just found my new Bolt Action .308. I already have a couple of Shotguns imported by Legacy. What you are getting is a less exspensive "copy" of a proven design. At least that was the case with the Shotguns. Biker ![]()

Howas come out of the same factory that used to make Browning, and the Weatherby Vanguard. They are made in Japan, and are good quality rifles. If they made them left handed I'd have two or three.
