Ya Mosins do seem to multiply. I have 6 right now and am on the prowl for more. They are probally the most fun per dollar firearm out there.

I have the M44 just like yours, bought it at a gun=show in San Diego about 10 years ago. The 7.62 x 54 round it fires is hellishly powerful. Get some of the steel core yellow-tips. Very strong.

A bolt-action carbine with a powerful sniper round seems kinda odd, with the kick-butt bayonet and all. Not sure what good it would be in a battle, but it is definitely a nice piece of history.

Thats a great gun for clearing out the range when its crowded.

The muzzle blast makes it interesting...

Although its your first...it probably wont be your last...

I had a M44 about five years ago that I totally regret selling when I moved. It was a blast to shoot and could totally make an awesome deer gun back home. I will most likely pick one up again next time I see one in decent condition. It's nice because the milsurp ammo for it is still pretty cheap too!

I picked mine up for $89. I recently picked up a 91/30 for $59 with all the accessories along with it. You just cannot beat that price for good rifles.

You will have fun with that rifle! With some of the other comments here I feel like the poor-boy because I only have 2 Mosin-Nagants!

Awsome, Congrats! I've always wanted one of those. I guess I will have to make it happen now! Let us know how it shoots!
