Harris Bipod?

Anyone know what size works best? What do they mount on the usual M24 or M40's? 9 to 13 inches sounds best to me, but without having it in front of me I am having a tough time guessing for sure.

I'm not a huge fan of the bipods on precision rifles, shoot a little bit before you buy one.

With that said, I have the smaller one mounted on my PSS, but never use it in the real world.

I have several different models. The BR (Bench Rest) is the one to use if you are shooting prone or off the bench.

I've got the BR mounted on my PSS as well as the 300 Mag and the .300 Whisper. They werent stout enough for my .50 BMG's (to much flex)so I had to build one.

With that being said, a good solid benchrest is hard to beat if you are trying to shoot tiny little groups. The bi-pods are OK, but definately give up some rigidity to the bench rests.

I use shooting socks right now, prone, off my 700 Police. I just think there are times that a bi pod might be useful... Hot Guns is that one really going to be high enough for 600m shots?

No problem with the 600 yarders.
The 9-13 inchers are a bit awkward to use off the bench because they are too high even when retracted, especially if you are using a sandbag rest for the stock.

I'm no precision rifleman, but I belive I'm on the same page as Sixto, here: I have a 6" for shooting off the car hood, or surfaces that are too high to be prone, to low to sit. Otherwise, bag or sling.

I prefer the 6-9 but I would get the swivel version.

I have two of the BR versions. Use them alot on anything from the 10/22's to the .308 heavy and occasionally the AR. I agree on the precision shots though--bags for me.

I have bags - old boot socks with those cheap beads they use for kid's jewlry in them. They work great and are nice and light. Just think I want something that I can use on the fly if necessary.
