While stationed in Panama in the early 1990's AT Ft, Kobbe, and Ft Clayton; I saw several Marines at the Naval stations pulling guard duty carry a S/S or chrome short barrel shotgun. I was told that it was 10 gauge. Are these available on the civilian market, if so what is their nominclature?

My guess is it was a 12 gauge (10 gauges are RARE). The Marine Corps has had a Mossberg contract for a long time. Did it look like this?
