If I may ask, did you do the paperwork as an individual, a Trust, or as a corporation?

I also did it as an individual. I was going to do the trust, but I have seen so many people say that the Quicken Willmaker route is untested and may not hold up in court. So I didn't risk it.

We use 14" 870s at work. Synthetic standard stocks and Surefire forearms (on some of them, anyhow) Bead sights. Simple and reliable; I like them a lot. Ours only take 4 in the magazine, however...

We also carry them on an empty chamber, on safe, with the trigger pulled. Anyone else roll this way?

Willmaker has delivered excellent results. Willmaker 08 will tailor the trust documentation to your particular state.

I have a couple of stamps "in the mail" so to speak

I guess one thing that makes me bang my head against the wall is you can have a 16" rifle but a shotty has to be a minimum 18"

^^ You can actually have any length gun. You're just forced to jump through silly hoops to prove yourself "worthy" to the revenuers at the turnstyle.

Yeah going through the "short" thing now. Easiest way to get a short barrel AR is to build it as a pistol (virgin receiver, no butstock, and no forward pistol grip - the receiver extension tube is okay to have though). That exempts you from all length requirements. 5"bbl, 24" bbl, whatever...

A new reciever is about 6 months quicker and $100 cheaper than going the "Short Barrel Rifle" approach through ATF/NFA.

I keep my bedroom shotgun like this, but it's not an SBS.
