Was looking at these at the gun show yesterday. NIB $399., is this a good price?

Thats not too bad. Atlantic lists them for $329 and then you would have to pay the $20 shipping and whatever your transfer fee might be. But you would not be paying sales tax so it could end up cheaper this way if that is applicable to you. Of course if you ask, Atlantic often gives a small discount on some guns for various forum memberships.

Actually when I got there I found out I misquoted the price on them. Actual price was $299. Wish I would have had the money available, would have gotten it in both 7.62 and .223. Settled on the 7.62 for now. $316. including tax.

archer, the rifle is reportedly good to go and a good buy. the only problem is that the mags are expensive to the tune of 40 bucks a piece.

Everything you could ever want to know about how to turn your Saiga into the great piece of machinery it could always be.
Saiga Conversion Saiga rifles are pretty much the Russian AK47s that people keep searching for at gunshows. If I remember correctly they are even made in the same factory. Just for an economics standpoint the conversion is almost mandatory just to cover the cost of spare magazines. Just keep compliant with federal laws, despite their stupidity.

I was able to pick up a Promag 20 round magazine for under $20. at the show. Will probably keep an eye out for some more Saiga mags at a decent price.
