Got a New Toy "Romanian PSL "

You all won't believe how much I got this PSL for $300 and the guy even gave me 440 rounds of Hungarian Surplus ammo. The PSL's finish was looking bad, so I bead blasted it and gave it some DuraBake black finish. I also had to fix a cracked wood forend. I painted them with some Krylon OD green. The trigger sucked so I dropped in a Tapco G2 and it made a world of difference. The rifle also came with a Leupold scope that was painted (WTF) with a new mount, rugged rings, a trijicon front sight post, Mojo rear sight, and skeletonized rear stock with an Uncle Mikes recoil pad. I also got the original scope and wood stock and two Mags. I think I did real well.

Dang, how do you guys find these deals like that. Even with the work you put in to it, which you probably would have done anyway for fun, it is a great deal, IMO.

Young troops in the military are always selling things, i.e. in debt. When I hear of the deals I snatch them up real quick!

Sweet looking rifle, and a heck of a deal to boot! Yeah....I never fall into deals like this either. Say...................that ribbed top cover. I've been wanting one real bad for my SLR. Know where I might find one? Anyone here on the boards have one laying around in their parts bin?

Ram, thanks for the kind words. I don't know too much about these rifles so I can't help on the top cover. I am doing a lot of research on the web about them. If I come across anything like that I will PM you.

That's an awesome deal. Good find!

How is the cheek weld? It looks like the scope might be a bit high, and the stock looks fairly skinny. That also looks like an aftermarket stock.

I have a Hadjii head rag from Iraq that I will be using for a Cheek pad. It's in the washer right now that's why it wasn't on the pic's. I tried it out and it was just right. Also, you are right it is an aftermarket stock that came with the purchase. I also have the original, but it is too short.
