front sight post and holo sight picture

For anyone out there who has an AR with a fixed front sight post and you have added a holo sight / red dot sight (no carry handle), does the front sight obscure your sight picture through the holo sight / red dot sight, or are you looking over the front sight post (it's out of view)?

No. I had an EOTech on my AR and it did not interfere at all.

Thanks for the response! Did you use a raised mount, or a standard mount for the eotech?

Not at all IMO.

Here is a view through my eotech 512

With both eyes open, focused down range at your target, the eotech lays a nice little sight over your field of view and the front post really does not effect it much if any at all.

I have no riser on my eotech you see in the picture. Just an accucam quick disconnect from GG&G.. and it does not raise the height at all.

Flat top mounted directly to the rail.

My 512 is mounted to the flat top and works perfect with backup sights

The Eotech is made to co-witness with a standard AR front site, and when you have a BUIS mounted behind, in case the Eotech is damaged or battery failure your Iron sites work without having to remove Eotech.

I run a 512 on a Colt 6920 and it works perfect in this way.
