I feel for you situation. I would get the two company reps on a three way call. I would not wait for these guys to dance around saying they could not get a reply etc. You are going to have to grab them by the ears and lead them to the result you want. Also you may want to record the conversation just for legal recourse later on.

Don't completely disregard the M&P. I love mine!

OP, so sorry to read of these issues. Must be frustrating.

Same here. I have been looking for an AR and had it narrowed down between a Bushie, RRA or a S&W. Because of this thread alone I kicked the S&W to the curb. Whether it was a gun malfunction or not did not make me kick it out, the lack of quality customer service did it.

Punch, I hope you get some where on this. I would forward this thread to S&W. They are losing biddness. They lost mine, I bought this on 04/04/09.....

Like I said, how much would it have cost them to fix it?
They lost a few sales and put ???? in some others mind.
I highly doubt that factory ammo coming down the same line would have a different powder and not enough room to double charge.
S&W is not the company everyone thinks......anymore.

EXACTLY. I can count four CONFIRMED lost sales (including mine) from this thread alone! Which has cost S&W more so far, replacing his gun, or losing our sales?

Regardless of S&W shirking responsibility, they're still holding the OP's property hostage - that's just not right! I agree with the fellow that suggested small claims court, but I don't see a need to name the retailer as a defendant - but S&W and Remington, sure.

It's finally over, I got a new gun from S&W. Remington and S&W are going to sort it out. S&W was very apologetic for the way the process occurred. I did during this process, and will continue to purchase S&W weapons. I had a very high ranking S&W executive call me to apologize and resolve the situation. Once he became involved I had a new replacement weapon in two days.

Great news! Too bad they didn't throw in a few magazines or something for all your aggravation.

Well that is good to hear that they finally stood up to their product. Thank you for keeping us up to date on the situation!
