I guess that after the Army he doesn't have a way to make enough money except to go on CNN and state what he knows is a lie, to be the truth. What in the hell happened to his integrity? I don't get it.
Keep in mind that this is a CNN story...his quotes could have been taken out of context to assist their Bushmaster smear-a-thon.

Well, he is right. As far as Bushies go, they are cheap guns when compared to others making AR's. Look at Rock River, DSA, Wilson, etc... and I'm not just talking about prices either.
Bushmaster is my least favorite.

Take it from someone who has given a few media interviews - you often don't read anything remotely like what you actually said when the journalist is done with your words.

What Haney said and what CNN reported are likely quite different.

The big 4, before the new crowd, (Oly, DPMS, Bushy & Colt) all had various pains. Bushy had a period where they couldn't tap the front sight tripod straight- canted blades. If you can look over a particular piece, you should not have any problems.

I despise Colt for their non-Mil-spec adaptations. If I wanted to be forced into buying proprietary parts, I'd buy an AUG.

I will give the sergeant major the respect that an "operator" is due.....BUT..... his theory's are (IMHO) flawed. Hopefully he was misquoted. ----

In my experience I've shot and seen several non-Colt AR's that have had various issues.

I've never owned a Bushmaster but I've seen ones owned by associates have troubles.

I've also owned a total of 3, two currently owned, Colt AR's that have zero peoblems. Not that I'm saying all Colts are 100% perfect nothing man made is.

BTW- Not one semi-auto AR has all true mil-spec parts.

+1. I don't have mine anymore, but it was extremely reliable and held 1moa on store bought ammo. But accessorizing the little booger was not cheap! OUCHIMAMA........
