Is the Mossberg 930SPX overbored?
Does anyone have one and know if it's overbored or not? I have a 935 which is overbored to the same diameter as a 10ga. which means I can't fire slugs out of it.
I was thinking about picking up a 930 but want to be able to fire slugs out of it.

I just used a Mossberg 930SPX at Mas Ayoob's LFI II. It performed perfectly, tiny shot groups, 90 rounds of slugs and 20 of 00 shot in intensive drills. I fired the final match which ends with firing 5 rounds of slugs as fast as yu can. All rounds must hit the A Zone.
I did it in 1.3 seconds. |

I do not believe it is overbored.
I've never heard of as much toward the 930 SPX in specific. I have wanted one for 3 yrs. now but finding one in stock has proven to be an impossibility. - Janq

Thanks guys. Sounds like I'm good to go.
As for being in stock, Dicks sporting goods has them all the time around here. I hate buying stuff there but when they have what I want they're getting the cash.

I couldn't get the 930spx to cycle for more than 3 or 4 rounds in a row. I only had 1 kind of ammo with me. I'm going to try another type.

Shot well over 100 hundred rounds of #8 birdshot through mine a week or so ago. No jams and it eats 00 and slugs like nothing else.

I sighted mine in at 75 yards on Weds and it was remarkable accurate. That doesn't indicate that it's over-bored to me. I'm going to re-sight it next week for 30 feet for home defense. Fine shotgun. Didn't hiccup once and I put 70 rounds through it.

Its a good idea to lube them good when first breaking them in til they smooth out a little, then lightly lube the contact points and your good to go
