They stand behind their product. Colt sets the bar right now as they are the only current AR-15 manufacturer with full access to the TDP that also sells an equivalent civilian product in the 6920 and 6921; I don't know if they have a safe-semi only A2 or A4 available to civilians, as I never looked. Colt distinguishes between which of their products are chambered in .223 Remington and 5.56 NATO, which should say something. Whatever folks might think about the company, they know how to make a fighting rifle, and distinguish between which rifles are for fighting and which aren't.

Like I have said, I don't know anything much about rifles or the ammunition for them, but am is it true that a rifle chambered for 5.56 can safely use .223? But not the other way around? And is this due to the higher pressure 5.56?

Correct. There's a current thread on .223 Remington vs 5.56 NATO on this very subforum that's worth a read.

You can still seperate the upper from the lower by pulling both takedown pins which will allow the receiver to pull forward instead of tilting up,even if the BCG is partially in the buffer tube, but it looks like the bolt is fully closed in the pics,Is the upper receiver at the ejection port bent out or just the dust cover

I don't think i want to take the rifle apart. I don't want S&W to think i messed with it before sending it in.

"223/5.56 NATO Chamber" is what the literature says, which you mentioned is meaningless. 223 Wylde available on some models.

Rock River Arms: RRA LAR-15 .223 Rifles

Where should I look on my RRA?

Generally on the left side of the lower receiver, and on the barrel (might be hidden under handguards).

It's true that it's not very useful information, but that doesn't do much to diminish my curiosity. I'd be surprised (pleasantly) if they marked their rifles as having a Wylde chamber. I'll have to bug the folks with the stainless Noveske rifles to see what their rifles say.

Calling the shop I ordered the rifle from (lanworldinc.com).
Told me she'd call me back after she talked to her rep.

Lady @ lanworld talked to her rep. The rep said S&W will honor their lifetime warranty.

I just need to call them now....
Hope it all falls into place.
