New Colt LE 6920 - Virgin

I just got back from the hobby shop!!

Picked up my new Colt LE 6920 Carbine.

She's a virgin until tomorrow when I break it in.

Dont worry the ammo in the picture is Wolf .223. It is only for effect. I do not have any 5.56x45 until tomorrow when I pick some up. I use the wolf .223 in my Mini14. But I have no doubt this colt can handle wolf since this batch is not lacquered. I will be swabbing and brushing the barrel the first 20 rds, second 20, and a deep clean after 100. Should break it in.

The fishing rod ... well it was already sitting up next to it. Thought I'd show my love for catching those bass as well!

The white thing is a cleaning cloth covering my ser no. It ain't yo biz what my government tracking number is

That's pretty. Be sure and let us know how it shoots. Gonna leave it stock, or add lots of do-dads to it?

Doodads but not too much. I want a streamlined carbine. I dont want to add more than 1.5-2lbs max to its stock full magazine weight.

I'd go for a rail, a weaponlight, and an optic if that is your flavor (nothing wrong with stock 16 sight's, but for SD I prefer an optic). And also a VFG, but that is because that is what I am trained on. The rail might add more weight than you are looking for, but they sure can come in handy.

Im thinking of saving for an ACOG. Maybe just an EoTech. Been doing alot of looking things up lately. I do want a JP VTAC 9" rail. I would also like a green laser for cqb ability and fear factor in SD. If I dont have to shoot I dont have to go to court or better yet prison for life, but do not discount my statement as weak. I will pull that trigger in a heartbeat if my instincts tell me to. This countries courts are infinitely corrupt if you ask me.

Speaking of SD. Frang or just some HP .223? I live in the county not to close to the neighbors but then again a rifle round has lots of distance capability. I would hate to punish an intruder and then find out the neighbors dog took a round to his rear end while chewing a rawhide a quarter mile away.

I love ACOGs, think that they are one of the greatest advancements in infantry rifles in the past 50 years, however, for SD purposes in the civilian world, I'd never use one. For anything under 25 yards I don't use sights at all, especially while doing MOUT. A good red dot with no magnification, like an EOtech or Aimpoint should fit the bill for you. Just my opinion of course.

I also don't like lasers for CQB, because I'm not going to move around with one activated, and even with a pressure switch, things are moving too quickly to worry about where the dot is, it really is more instinct and muscle memory (Once again, this is my opinion, and I have training with laser systems, as well as training and real world MOUT experience).

For rounds, I'm not sure what the go to 5.56 for HD round is today, but I'm sure if you search around some you can find it.
