Yeah I have neglected my mini14... oh well it can wait until i'm bored shooting tactically with the colt. Then again that may never ever ever happen. Although my next big purchase is going to be a simple hunting rifle. I kind of want to get a .300 winmag. Never owned one that big. Biggest I own is the ole' .30-06.

I was thinking of something in 30-06 next or maybe I will finally venture into the AR arena, although a mini-14 might fill my purposes also, not sure I really need an AR, not going to attack anyone, if the SHTF I plan on a more defensive posture. Although, I met a friend of my brothers on Saturday who has invited me to come shoot some of his AR's since I have never had the oppurtunity, so that may change my opinion.

[B]VERY NICE! Did I see the right price?? Always thought it was an underated rifle. Now with CorBon loads for defensive purposes this might become the new "poor man's assault rifle". It's kinda PC too(wood stock etc)in the hated world of the "black rifle". Something to look into!! Good Luck with it!!

Gold Dot recently added a 30 Carbine load. I'd love a reliable M1 Carbine. I have a junky old one that won't fire through a mag. It was free...

I emailed Speer about this, and unfortunately it is only being offered to LE with no plans to offer to the public.

I love the M1 Carbine!!

I'm jealous though. I own a .30 M1 but it's the after market Universal Arms one.

Bad decision on two fronts. First of all, civilians deserve just as nice of ammo as police. Second, I'd bet there are waaaaaaay more M-1 Carbines in private hands... Seriously, how many police forces still issue the M-1 Carbine???

I'm going to strip mine down and detail clean it, and see if I can get it reliable. Then I have to decide what to do about the color. It's gold plated, with a walnut stock. I have no idea why, but it is what it is...

No, I'm not kidding, gold plated...

Where did you get a gold plated M1? Did it belong to Saddam Hussein?
