For ammo you might try Georgia Arms canned heat. Pretty decent brass ammo at a decent price too.

At this time, Georgia Arms doesn't even list 30 Carbine as available.
Georgia Arms - .30 CARBINE

Yeah, GA is so far behind on orders they should probably just stop taking new ones and going to gun shows until they get caught up. I think the wait on what calibers they still make is something like 12 weeks.

ShooterX -- Didn't know if you were looking for any FMJ plinking ammo, but I just received an email flyer from Natchez Shooter's Supply showing Sellier and Bellot 30 Carbine 110 gr FMJ in stock at $21.49/50.

I too just picked up a 1943 Saginaw made .30 carbine. I've always wanted one, now that I'm 60 I decided to go ahead before some asshat in Worshington decides they will be banned. It looked to be in great shape and the barrel looked new. I brought it home and cleaned it up and fired two boxes of Federal 110 gr. JSP thought it....no issues at all. I was only firing at about 35 yards but it was shooting two inch groups. It's soon to get a reflex sight and IDF sling. Will be my poor mans short distance battle rifle. Sure is sweet to shoot.

what are you using for the cope mount? Have you looked here: AK-47 Accessories, AK-47 Mini-14, Mini-30, M1 .30 Carbine Scout Scope Mount from UltiMAK.

The rear mount came with a nice scope and weaver rings. I kinda liked the reflex sight. I'll keep the original site with the gun in my BOB. I can change it out in a minute or so if necessary. Good idea.
