FN FS2000 questions

I was wondering if the this rife can be shot left handed without catching brass in the face? I know some rifles will do this but is the FS2000 a lefty friendly long gun is this respect? Also id it true these guns use AR-15 mags?

From FN's website:

Quote:
Chambered in 5.56x45mm NATO (223 Rem.), the FN FS2000 Series are civilian legal, semi-auto only variants of the proven F2000 selective-fire bullpup carbines. The FS2000 Standard comes equipped with a 1.6x optical sighting package, while the FS2000 Tactical offers an integrated MIL-STD 1913 top mounting rail and emergency backup folding sights. The FS2000 carbines are gas-operated and use a rotating bolt lockup for reliability and greater accuracy. Both variants have 17.44" cold hammer-forged MIL-SPEC barrels and muzzle brakes. Fired cases are ejected through a forward port away from the operator. Models with 10- or 30-round detachable box magazines (DBM) are available. The polymer stock is fully-ambidextrous.

The FS2000 uses readily available AR-15/M-16 thirty-round magazines.

This is what I just got in. I believe they also have a new model that uses AR-15 mags(STG-E4).

Short answer, yes. they are ambidextrous. They also use regular AR mags.

Long answer. The spent casings aren't ejected out the side like other rifles. They are kept internal and placed in a tube that goes forward to the front of the stock. When you get a few of them in there they will open up a hatch, think the spring loaded dust cover on an AR, and will start to fall out. Once that hatch is open, you can just point the muzzle down and all the spent casings will drop out at your feet during a lull.

I just traded mine off but jualdeaux is right on the money. The spent cases are pushed along a tube and will pop put towards the muzzle end but above the barrel. It is a little strange. Mine would work with AR mags, but it was very tight and required a lot of force to extract the empty mag. My mags were brand new C-products, if I am not mistaken, and would never drop free with the first 500 rounds thru it... at least not mine.

It is a good firearm, but there are better ones out there for the price.
