AK Poll

Ive decided I want a red dot on my AK but cant decide what would be the best setup. Would anyone with red dots on their AKs post pictures of how it looks as well as the sight picture you get when looking down the sight? Anything is appreciated. I made a poll with a few popular optics mounting set ups on AKs.

Thanks

LaRue Iron Dot

Ultimak Scout Rail

Aimpoint Micro

Aimpoint M2

Texas Weapons Systems Rail

Samson Rear Sight Rail

Go with the Aimpoint T-1 UltiMak combo if you don't mind paying the price. The T-1 is a very good RD sight but it's over priced.

Then save a little and get the H1.

When I finally get my own AK, I'll most likely be going the Ultimak Scout Rail w/ Aimpoint Micro route. It's a solid, proven setup that gives me another excuse to buy an Aimpoint.

I'll stick with the sights that come with the rifle. They will do the job and are nearly indestructable.

I have the Ultimak on mine with an Aimpoint. It's about as good as it gets on an AK.

I'm planning on getting a Samson rear sight rail for my AK. This is the cleanest solution I've seen and allows the most flexibility to choose my own sight. LaRue's IronDot is also a great option, but it ties you to a FastFire sight - not a bad thing, necessarily, unless you decide you want something else.

The Ultimak rail with an Aimpoint is the way to go for a red dot on the AK.

Open sights are just plain wonderful! The AK-47 wasn't created as a precision weapon. Nobody should think of it as such.

I don't see what precision has to do with it. Red dot sights aren't really intended to be more precise than iron sights, they're intended to be faster.
